I visited this unit on Mon.3rd october 2005 for one session having given them 3 days notice of my intended arrival. I was treated with the utmost professionalism by a crew of very friendly, hygenic staff. The unit is well appointed in the centre of Camonix, I experienced no problems during or post dialysis, indeed i found the whole experience most relaxing.

I have visited Chamonix for skiing and walking for 4 years. The dialysis centre is always able to accommodate me - usually if I request it in the evenings. If you want to ski, this centre is a godsend. The unit is clean, modern and has good equipment. The nurses are kind, although they don't speak English (I speak enough French to get by). There is TV (shared between dialysis stations) and excellent food - with a choice of dishes on a menu, and sandwiches if you prefer. The main problem for me is that friends or partners are not allowed in, which leads to a very tedious four hours. I usually dialyse at home, and my husband and I pass the time well together, so that is very frustrating. The doctor in charge is adamant about his rules, rather severe but very kind hearted and runs his unit very well. If you want to ski - there's nothing stopping you!
