Interested in advertising?Who created Global Dialysis?Global Dialysis was originally launched by Valda and Russell England in January 2000. Val was a haemodialysis patient for 25 years. Russ was an independent IT consultant specialising in the development and design of database applications for large corporate enterprises and government departments. Why was Global Dialysis created? It was born out of the frustrations of trying to find dialysis centres for travelling. Global Dialysis is primarily a resource for patients who want to travel, this includes travel stories that have been a great inspiration for dialysis patients. The directory pages of dialysis centres are our most popular pages. Our database has now grown to 11,800 centres in 128 countries making it the LARGEST database of dialysis centres available in the world. What is the direction for the Global Dialysis now?Global Dialysis is now under new management, we have lots of ideas for improvements. Global Dialysis has become one of the most popular dialysis related websites on the internet (see table below) without any advertising by the owners. Since it's launch 6 years ago, the cost of maintaining the website has been met by the owners. We are now actively looking for advertisers and sponsors. This will help us to make major improvements to the website and as always, provide a free resource for dialysis patients. Who visits Global Dialysis? The majority are dialysis patients but we also have many enquiries from dialysis professionals, researchers and travel companies. Around 10% of visitors go directly to our jobs page. According to the US Renal Data System, the average age group for dialysis patients is 45-64. The Male:Female ratio is 7:5. Traffic RankingAlexa rankings aren't perfect, but they can offer a very good indication of how popular a website is. The rankings are calculated by how many times websites are visited by users with their Alexa explorer toolbar installed, around 10 million users. Our highest ranking on Alexa has been 39,295. Based on 18 million websites trawled by Alexa, we are in the top 0.23% visited sites of ALL websites on the internet, not just dialysis websites. Pretty good considering we had never advertised. The Alexa website has a tool to compare traffic rankings/page views/reach between websites, useful if you are considering online advertising. Incidentally, Alexa are owned by Amazon. For more information about Alexa see: What are Alexa Rankings? Interested in Advertising? Our advertising rates are very competitive and start from as little as £40 per month.
